Now Showing! Ben’s Journey

Ben’s Journey is the latest video from Side by Side, first premiered at our Reach for the Stars: Denim & Diamonds gala this September. It highlights the inspiring path of Ben Freeman—a former Irene M. Hunt School student—through his and his mother’s eyes, Deanna Brock (Side by Side’s Board President).

At Side by Side, we walk alongside young people impacted by adversity, supporting them on their unique journeys to heal from trauma, rebuild resilience, and embrace their full potential.

To watch Ben’s Journey—and hear Deanna’s heartfelt message to our gala guests—click the “PLAY VIDEO” button on the homepage banner above.

Hot Off the Press: Annual Report 2024–2025

Our Annual Report has arrived—and it’s hitting mailboxes now.

In 2024–2025, Side by Side served more than 3,100 youth and family members across four counties, delivering integrated mental health care, special education, LGBTQIA+‑affirming programs, housing, and life‑skills support. This year’s report also celebrates 130 years of walking side by side with Bay Area youth and features stories on Enhanced Care Management, the Independent Living Program, community outreach, and our historic roots.

We’d love to hear your thoughts at development@sidebysideyouth.org.
