Reach for the Stars Gala

Side by Side’s Reach for the Stars Gala will be held both virtually and in-person in September 2020. Whether you can be with us physically or not, we hope you’ll join us in celebrating 125 years of coming together for the Bay Area’s young people.

This commemoration of Side by Side’s anniversary is being planned in accordance with the latest Marin County guidelines and the utmost care is being taken to ensure guest safety (see below). Additional details about the event — and what to expect when you arrive — will be sent out one week prior to the gala to all host/ticket purchasers and their guests.

Reach for the Stars is a critical source of unrestricted revenue for Side by Side and enables our agency to fill in gaps between the true cost of our programs and available funding from our county and school partners. We expect that the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic will ripple through our communities for months to come and the behavioral and mental health services that Side by Side provides throughout the Bay Area are needed now more than ever.

As we recognize 125 years of service to our community this year – and showcase that anniversary at the Gala – it has given us many chances to reflect on the thousands of young people’s lives that have been touched by the programs and staff of Side by Side.  Importantly, that impact would not be possible without the support of our corporate partners and individual donors. We hope that you’ll join us for this special evening of tribute, gratitude, and family.

  • Complimentary shuttle service from Dominican University parking-lot provided.
  • All food will be served to each guest by catering staff wearing masks and gloves.
  • Restrooms will be sanitized between each guest use.
  • Hosts may pre-arrange preferred socially distanced seating for their guests for the program portion of the event (seated all together or within “pods” loosely clustered together in reserved seating).
